A Rickshaw Puller
A rickshaw puller is a poor man who earns his living by pulling a rickshaw. He is seen playing on the roads usually with passengers and sometimes without passengers. He often rings his bell to warn passers-by and drivers of other vehicles. He uses a harican behind his rickshaw at night. He is seen here and there and everywhere all over Bangladesh. Most rickshaw pullers hire rickshaws from the owner on half-day or daily basis. A few of them are lucky. They have their own rickshaws. Rickshaw pullers are usually poor sections of people. The life of a rickshaw puller is full of sorrows and sufferings. In the towns and cities he lives in the slum and in the village he usually lives in a cottage. He cannot afford to buy good food and clothes for himself and his family. His social position is as low as his low income.
